My journey till now......

Posted by anubvm on August 30, 2013 at 11:55 AM Comments comments (0)

Altogether this has been a journey with revelation, self-introspection but most importantly realization of us as eternal souls.

Please forgive me for appraisal of myself. I am no authority. But by the grace of Krsna and prabhus the journey till now, on being a part of Krsna Consciousness Movement has been smooth and I have full faith that the future will also be the same by Krsna's grace........

Learning from authorised written by Srila Prabhupada himself with his detailed and elaborate commentary has been a wonderful experience......

Initially I was extremely dubious of even myself whether I would be able to shed my cover of shyness and egoistical nature. But under the cool and consoling shadow of prabhuji now I have begun to feel the Bhakti rasa which seems to fall down like drops of nectar from Krsna's mouth itself.......

Speaking frankly, I used to be the most reluctant to do chanting. This has completely changed now. The importance and the pleasure that chanting gives me now knows no limit. Melodious bhajans and beautiful dance has now become a sight to behold..........

This is my journey like every other soul to reach the transcendental plane..... and I want to relish each and every moment!!!

Krsna's arrival

Krsna is all-attractive, all-prevading and all loving. Clearly, my words fall fairly short of describing his qualities. ..........

Krsna janamasthami is one such festival wherein people from all walks of life celebrate and rejoice with such great pomp and grandeur that the joys so accumulated

stay like nectar in our heart for good........

This is my little attempt to pen down a few events of his stay as the Earthly form, albeit no one can describe his full history as him being the start and the end of everything ............

(to be continued...)

All Loving Krsna

hare krsna !!

Prayers offered by devotees to Krsna :

Vasudeva addressing Krsna on his birth : "You are the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the Supersoul of all living entities and the Absolute Truth. You have appeared

just to deliver me from the fear of Kamsa. You do not belong to this material world; You are the same person who brings the cosmic manifestation simply by glancing

over material nature. "

Prayers by Akrura : "My dear Lord, I offer my respectful obeisances unto You because You are the supreme cause of all causes and the original inexhaustible

personality, Narayana. From Your navel a lotus flower grows and from that lotus Brahma, the creator of this universe, is born. Since Brahma is the cause of this

universe, you are the cause of all causes. The elements of this cosmic manifestation- earth, water, fire, air, ether, ego and the total material energy, as well as

nature, the marginal energy, the living entities, the mind the senses, the sense objects and the demigods who control the affairs of the cosmos- are all produced from

Your body. You are the Supersoul of everything, but no one knows Your transcendental form. "

Upon getting his curse being lifted by Krsna, King Nrga addressed Krsna in following words : " My dear Lord, You are the Supreme Lord and are worshipped by all the

demigods. You are the Supreme person, Purusottama. You are the source of all happiness for all living entities; therefore You are known as Govinda. You are the

Supreme, the purest of all living entities. You live in everyone's heart. You are the shelter of all living entities, Narayana. Being seated in the heart of all living

beings, You are the Supreme director of everyone's sensual activities; therefore, You are also called Hrsikesa."

On being asked by Krsna that how he could render himself in his service, Narada Muni replied in such enlightening words : "My dear Lord, this kind of behaviour by Your

Lordship is not at all astonishing, for You are the Supreme Personality of GodHead and master of all species of living entities. You are the Supreme friend of all

living entities, but at the same time You are the supreme chastiser of the miscreants and the envious. Your Lordhship has descended to this earth for the maintenance

of the whole universe. Your appearance, therefore, is not forced by any other agency. By Your sweet will only, You agree to appear and disappear. It is my great

fortune that I have been able to see Your Lotus feet today. Anyone who becomes to Your Lotus feet is elevated to the Supreme position of neutrality and is

uncontaminated by the material modes of nature."

Being conscious of his subordinate position, Indra, the king of heaven, appeared before Krsna with folded hands and began to offer his prayers as : " My dear Lord, now

by your grace I can understand that You are the Supreme Personality of GodHead and that you are transcendental to all material qualities. Your transcendental position

is visuddha-sattva, which is above the platform of the material mode of goodness. Your abode is accessible only for one who undergoes severe austerities and penances

and becomes completely freed from the onslaught of material qualities like passion and ignorance. "

Tortuous, torturous : they have different core meanings.

Tortuous means 'full of twists and turns', as in we took a tortuous route

Torturous means 'involving or causing torture' as in a torturous five days of fitness training

high treason, the crime of betraying one's country

Word of caution : the crime of petty treason being abolished in 1828, moderners use only high treason now..

Mental : mental is now largely being replaced by 'psychiatric'. And mentally handicapped by less demeaning terms such as learning difficulties.

Merchandise : merchandise and words derived from it, such as merchandising, are always correctly spelled with an s, not an z.

Non-flammable and non-inflammable : Both the words mean the same

Normalcy : It has been criticised as an uneducated alternative to normality.

FYI : 'Normalcy' is normally found in Indian English

Kudos : There is no singular-pl. concept for this word as 'kudo'.
